Wayne Lee Goerres

Wayne Lee Goerres, 66, of Phenix City, AL died peacefully at Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, GA on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 surrounded by his family.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at a later date according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.

Mr. Goerres was born May 20, 1956 in Chicago, IL son of the late James William Goerres and Marillyn Joy Durant Goerres.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman and biker. Wayne loved more than anything to feel the wind in his face as he rode his bike around town and on trips. Time outdoors was always an adventure. Whether successfully bagging a deer or filling his stringer with fish, he loved the time with family, friends and just being outside. Wayne loved his family and friends and will be missed by them greatly.

Survivors include his three children, Melissa Fay Morin, Wendy Nicholson and Jesse Goerres; five siblings, June Stafford (Terry), Jim Goerres (Chris), Cathy Brown (Neill), Ron Goerres, Sherri Stevenson (Dave) and three special grandchildren, Damien, Destiny and Donnie Morin; several nieces, nephews and friends.
