Wayne Stanley

Wayne Stanley, 68, of Columbus, GA passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at his residence in Columbus.  A memorial service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Sunday, March 20, 2016 beginning at 2:00 PM EST, with Brother Ben Bennett officiating.  The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, beginning at 1:00 P.M. EST.

Wayne was born November 10, 1947 in Opp, AL to the parents of the late Floyd and Annie Merle Doster Stanley.  He was a past member of Britt David Baptist Church. He retired after 24 years from Little Debbie in Columbus and he enjoyed fishing with his grandson.

Other than his parents, Wayne is predeceased by his brother, Timmy DeVerger, a granddaughter, Sydney Stanley and two special babies, Dolly and Sheba.

Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Donna Wyatt Stanley; a daughter, Connie Stanley Newsome of Columbus, GA; a son, Michael Stanley of Alpharetta, GA; two sisters:  Jeanice Messick (Jerry) of Greenville, SC and Glenda Nesmith (David) of Columbus, GA; five brothers:  Edward Day, JR of Columbus, GA, Kenneth Stanley (Rhonda) of Opp, AL, Glennie Stanley (Shelia) of Opp, AL, Dean Stanley of Andalusia, AL and Jerome Stanley of Opp, AL; four grandchildren:  Cole Newsome, Olivia Newsome, Logan Stanley and Mason Stanley; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and Aunts.
