William C. Cambron, 76, of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, in the comfort of his home in Phenix City.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm EST Monday, February 12, 2018, at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Cambron was born March 1, 1941, in Piedmont, AL to the late William T. Cambron and Mabel Finch Cambron. He was retired with R C Cola in Columbus, GA and served in transportation. He served our country proudly and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He had a passion for music and loved playing and singing across the Chattahoochee Valley and other areas. He had a tremendous gift as a musician and a vocalist. Many knew him locally as his stage name “Steve Cameron”. He was a proud member of the NRA. He loved reading history, especially about the Civil War and enjoyed collecting different trinkets from the Civil War and Western era. He was a Christian by faith and loved to read his bible daily. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Shawn Cambron, and two brothers, Lloyd Cambron, and Clayton Cambron.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Debra Sue Smith Cambron, three daughters, Cathy Cambron Caswell, Rhonda Cambron, and Cassidy Cambron and her companion, Stephen Tillery, four sons, Scott Cambron, Stephen Cambron and his companion, Helen Price, David Johnson, and wife LaDawn, and Casey Cambron and wife Amanda; (19) grandchildren, (5) great-grandchildren, a host of extended family members, and many caring friends.
