William Earl Carroll

June 3, 1947 — November 30, 2017

William Earl Carroll, 70, of Salem, AL passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm EST Monday, December 4, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 2:00 to 4:00 pm EST at the funeral home. Pall Bearers for the service will be Brad Carroll, Ricard Carroll, Jeff Carroll, Kevin Carter, Hunter Johnson, Brett Faulkner and one Honorary Pall Bearer, Michael Carroll. 

Mr. Carroll was born June 3, 1947 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Dallas Carroll and Nettie Mae Vinson Carroll.  He retired from the Muscogee County School District after 26 years of service in the paint department.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and canning foods grown from his garden.  Mr. Carroll had a love for God and people as he served in Clown (Beaney the Clown) Vacation Bible School and the Fall Festival ministries.  He was a loving husband, daddy and PawPaw.  He cherished the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild Finn Elliott; three brothers, Louie Carroll, Jack Carroll and Jimmie Carroll; three sisters, Lizzie Mae McCurdy, Sally Mason and Joan Money; a sister-in-law, Wanda Sue Lee. 

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of thirty-four years, Debra Lee Carroll; a daughter, Lisa Elliott and husband Jacob of Columbus, GA; a son, Larry Carroll and wife Chelsey of Columbus, GA; brothers, Mack Carroll and wife Estelle of Columbus, GA, Sammy Carroll and wife Marsha of Pittsview, AL and Ralph Carroll and wife Carol of Fortson, GA; two sisters-in-law, Mary Nell Chauncey and husband Dewey of Salem, AL and Ann Marie Lee of Columbus, GA; four grandchildren, Sarah Carroll, William James Carroll, Sawyer Elliott and Emilee Elliott; a close friend, Captain Dan Jordan; many nieces, nephews, extended family and caring friends.
