William Evan Rowland

William Evan Rowland, 62, of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 in the comfort of his home. 

Memorial services will be held 3:00 pm EST Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service on Sunday at the funeral home.  A private burial will follow at a later date.

Mr. Rowland was born June 7, 1953 in Middlesboro, KY to the late Evan Ronald Rowland and Georgia Virginia Walker Rowland.  He was employed with Robinson Paving Company in Columbus, GA and had 28 years of service.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a Christian by faith.  He enjoyed watching Kentucky Basketball and was a big Kentucky football fan.  He loved fun times, fellowship, and his friends.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Rowland.

He is survived by one son, Joseph “Evan” Rowland and wife Brittany of Phenix City, AL, one sister, Charlotte Ritchie and husband Steve of Aiken, SC, and two very special grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emilie, a host of extended family and many caring friends.
