William J. Peacock, Jr., 79, of West Point, GA died at West GA Medical Center, LaGrange, GA on Wednesday, April 07, 2021.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM (EST) on Friday, April 09, 2021 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.
A Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. (CST) on Saturday, April 10, 2021 in Pleasant Ridge Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Elba, AL with Rev. Joe Farris officiating. The family will receive friends for a few moments at Haze Funeral Home, Elba, AL on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. till 10 a.m.
Mr. Peacock was born April 16, 1941 in Laurel Hill, FL son of the late William J. Peacock, Sr. and Murtie B. Sasser Peacock. He was driver for Burnham Van Lines for many years before moving to FL for a time. Mr. Peacock was a handyman and jack of all trades who freely shared his skills with those in need. He and his brother, J.D. often did repair work, home improvements or other projects on a regular basis at no charge to the family. We will always remember his kindness and love of family. We will miss him and his handyman skills.
Mr. Peacock was preceded in death by his parents and a stepdaughter, Shelia Tyson.
Survivors include his brother, J.D. Peacock, West Point, GA; three stepdaughters, Billie Jean Hutto (Bruce) and Debra Kimbrough (Preston); Kathy Jordan; three step-sons, Ted Coe, William Coe, and Kelsie Hart; four grandchildren, Adam Tyson, William Hutto (Hollie) and Tyler Kimbrough (Jenna);numerous other grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several other family members and friends also survive.
