William D. "Billy" Jacobs

William D. “Billy” Jacobs, Jr., 78, of Phenix City, AL died at Piedmont, Midtown, Columbus, GA on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

A family led Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April  27, 2024 at 1:00 PM (EST) at Sissy's Place, 1004 25th Avenue Phenix City, AL according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. 

 Mr. Jacobs was born February 25, 1946 in Columbus, GA son of the late William D. Jacobs, Sr. and Mavis Cauley Jacobs. He was the owner of Jacobs Paint Contracting Company. Billy loved old cars, especially Studebakers, stock car racing with his son, camping when his children were young and the beach. He also loved watching his two granddaughters play softball. Billy’s family was his pride and joy, and he put them at the top of his priority list. We will miss him, but he is now resting in peace.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Diane Thomas Jacobs, Phenix City, AL; a daughter, Velinda Russ and a son, Billy Jacobs (Kelly); one sister, Darlene Shirley; two granddaughters, Danielle Chapman (Charlie) and Brittany Russ (Josh Dunigan); five precious great-grandchildren, Jacob Russ, Ariana Chapman, Mikayla Chapman, Sydnie Brown and Stetson Dunigan; one niece, Nikki Broderick; several other family members and friends.
