William “Mike” Boswell

William Michael “Mike” Boswell, 73, of Hatchechubbee, AL died while at UAB, Birmingham, AL on Saturday, August 12, 2023.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 PM EST (1:00 PM CDT) on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Hatchechubbee Baptist Church, Hatchechubbee, AL with Rev. Jim Gilboy officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM EST (Noon CDT) until the funeral hour at the church.

Mr. Boswell was born October 30, 1949, in Columbus, GA and was the son of the late William H. Boswell and Evelyn Howard Boswell. He was a lifelong member of the Farmers Federation and the Russell County Cattlemen’s Association, where he also served as past president. Mr. Boswell was also an active member of Hatchechubbee Baptist Church. He was a successful entrepreneur, auctioneer, and farmer who worked hard and was well respected by all who knew him. His favorite past times included watching Gun Smoke and Andy Griffith, hauling cows to Mid State Stockyard in Letohatchee, AL, and auctioning cars at Valley Auto Auction in Phenix City, AL.  The legacy he has left will continue to impact our family now and for many years to come.  We are grateful for the foundation he has laid for us.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dale Dudley Boswell, Hatchechubbee, AL; two daughters, Jodi Artis (Jay), Deatsville, AL and Jan Kemp (Bobby), Columbus, GA; one sister, Christie Boswell, Phenix City, AL; his constant companion, “Penny” the puppy; numerous cousins and friends also survive.
