William “Bill” Nevels

Bill Nevels, 66, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, July 16, 2020 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Billy Ledbetter officiating. A private interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 till 8:00 PM on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Nevels was born October 01, 1953 in Columbus, GA to the late W. C. Nevels and Catherine Wells Nevels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brent Nevels. He was a graduate of Central High School after attending St. Patrick’s Catholic School for many years. He was a welder by trade and worked for over 28 years at Continental Carbon. Bill enjoyed woodworking as well as hunting and fishing. He loved his guitar collection and classic rock.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Jendze Nevels; daughter, Beth Pike (Sonny) of Smiths Station, AL; three step-daughters, Amanda Sloane, Panama City Beach, FL, Ashley Berg (Mike), Smiths Station, AL and Andrea Williams (Jake), Fortson, GA; 10 grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers and numerous nieces, nephews and his beloved dog, Bella.
