William R. Pippins

William Royce Pippins, 75 of Smiths Station, AL passed away peacefully Friday evening October 28, 2022 at Brookdale Senior Living in Columbus, GA

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon EST on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Pastor Matt Stephens and Rev. Tommy Fountain officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Serving as pallbearers are Timothy Pippins, Dalton Pippins, Johnny Pippins, Phillip McCrary, Brad Ray, John Gallatin, and Brandon Clark.

Mr. Pippins was born November 25, 1946 in Slocomb, AL to the late William Buford Pippins and Nopile Eldridge Ricks.  He had a passion and belief of strong work ethics serving in the grocery store retail food industry for most of his life retiring from Publix Grocery with 22 plus years of loyal service.  He served our country honorably as a Veteran in the United States Army.  Mr. Pippins loved and enjoyed playing the game of golf and softball.  He loved his family and was dedicated to providing for their needs.  He was a Christian by faith.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bruntson Pippin and Essie Smith Pippin who loved and raised him as their own son.  He was also preceded in death by a great granddaughter.

Mr. Pippins is survived by his children, Timothy Pippins and wife Vicky, Tammy Gallatin and husband John, Rodney Pippins and wife Jodi, Kristi Kerr and husband JD, Kathleen Pippins, and Bethany Anderson, sister, Linda Pippins, brother, Terry Wayne Pippins and wife Debby, 10 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and many loving family members, and numerous friends.

His family wanted to express a gratitude of love to all his caregivers for their love shown to Mr. Pippins and his family.
