Mrs. Willie “Billie” Helen Allrid Dawson, 88, of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Thrive Senior Living in Columbus, GA.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am EST Friday, February 14, 2025 at Summerville Baptist Church with Rev. Robb Goodman officiating. Interment will follow at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Smiths Station, AL. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, at the church.
Billie was born March 29, 1936 in Salem, AL, daughter of the late Norris Pinkney Allrid and Mary Frances Jarrell Taylor. She and her husband Bob, owned and operated a State Farm Insurance Agency for over 38 years. Billie and Bob enjoyed their farm, and Billie enjoyed taking care of her cats. Her passions were pulling for the Braves and spending time with her family. Billie was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, always putting her family before herself. Above all, was a steadfast Christian and had been a member of Summerville Baptist since 1963.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Durell Dawson; two sisters, Jeannine Duke and Ann Randall; and one brother, Billy Allrid; step-father, Frank Taylor.
Billie is survived by two sons, Kenneth Dawson and wife Deborah and Rodney Dawson and wife Angie; grandchildren, Rebecca Rosas (Mark), Robert Dawson (Meredith), Bailey Dawson, Rachel Reimers (Ryan) and Braxton Dawson; great-grandchildren, Aly Mae, Clark and Ruthie; as well as several extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Thrive Senior Living for the loving care they gave Billie. Additionally, a special thank you to her sitters, Lakisha and Lenora.
