Mr. Willie R. Blackstock

Mr. Willie R. Blackstock, 79, of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

A graveside service will be held 1:30 pm Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Blackstock was born January 25, 1941, son of the late Willie Merle Blackstock and Mary Kathleen Russell Blackstock.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he retired after 20 years. After his military career, Mr. Blackstock worked for over 25 years at Martin Army Hospital.  He was an Ambassador at Large with the Shriners and volunteered his time helping children.  Mr. Blackstock also enjoyed collecting baseball cards and woodworking.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Carolyn Brannon Blackstock of Phenix City, AL; a daughter, Leann Glover and husband Bill of Jasper, GA; a son Ben Blackstock and wife Jennifer of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Mick Glover, Andie Glover, Jordan Blackstock and Houston Blackstock; extended family and friends.
