Winford Trillis Murrell, 68, of Columbus, GA, passed away January 12, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, January 16, 2015 beginning at 5:00 P.M. EST at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA, 31907. Pastor David Howle will be officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. EST at the funeral home. Winford Murrell was born November 30, 1946 in Fort Benning Georgia, son of the late, Trillis R. Murrell and Ethel Loyd Murrell. Winford Murrell graduated from Baker High School in 1964. Winford was a former employee of J.C. Penny and retired from American General and Talbot County School District as a bus driver. Winford was also the former owner of Geneva Feed and Seed. In his spare time Winford enjoyed, hunting, camping, and riding his Harley. Survivors include, his loving wife of forty seven years, Gail Miller Murrell; children, Justin Murrell (Rachel) of Columbus, GA, Wendy Ramos (Efrain) of Columbus, GA, and Amy Murrell (Chad) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Noah, Isabella, Micah, Mason, Carter, Tanner and Spencer; brothers, Marlon Murrell (Debbie) of Auburn, AL, Brice Murrell of Bleeker, AL, Roger Murrell (Rene) of Texas. Winford Trillis Murrell will forever be remembered as a devoted husband and father, loving grandfather and caring friend.
