Wm. Maurice Jenkins

William Maurice Jenkins, 94, of Phenix City, AL died peacefully while at Arabella Healthcare, Phenix City, AL on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Tuesday, February 04, 202,5 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Matt Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at the funeral home on Tuesday. 

Mr. Jenkins was born September 21, 1930, in Bolivar County, MS, son of the late Walter Jenkins and Clarise Dillon Jenkins. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran. After his service to our country, he joined and retired from the U. S. Post Office. At the time of his retirement, he was a Carrier Supervisor. Mr. Jenkins enjoyed bowling, playing card games such as pinochle, spades and canasta. He was also an avid water skier in his younger days. Mr. Jenkins not only skied well, he taught numerous others to ski as well. He was also well known for his well-manicured lawn and flower beds. Mr. Jenkins was the envy of the neighborhood. An independent man, he was actively driving and socializing frequently up until a year ago! 

We will always remember him as a man of integrity and hard work. While he was raised in hard times, he allowed that to shape him into a man who appreciated what he earned. He in turn taught those around him the same lesson. 

Mr. Jenkins is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Clarise Jenkins; siblings, Geneva Cason, Danese Constan and James Jenkins; a daughter, Viki Milner.

Survivors include his daughter, Jene’ Greer (Tim), Phenix City, AL and stepdaughter, Kathi Wombles (Jerry); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
