Zachary Dean Cosby

Zachary Dean Cosby, 27, of Phenix City, Alabama, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019 in Griffin, Georgia.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11:00 EST Monday, July 22, 2019, at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home located at 3738 Highway 431 North Phenix City, AL 36867, with Pastor David Wilson and Rev. Skip Speed officiating. Interment will follow at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Zack was born in Columbus, GA to his father Jeff Cosby and mother Donna Williamson Cosby. He was employed by Mastec as a lineman. Zack loved music and often could be found playing his guitar and singing, entertaining people wherever he went. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, cooking and a self -proclaimed meteorologist. Most of all, Zack lived each day to its fullest and made the most out of every minute.

Zack was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Edna Alice Williamson and his paternal grandfather Emory Cosby.

In addition to his parents, Zack is survived by his girlfriend (the love of his life), Chelsey Hancock of Phenix City, AL; one sister Brooke Cosby of Niceville, FL; maternal grandmother Jackie Cosby; paternal grandfather James Ray Williamson; four aunts and two uncles; coworkers and numerous friends who are family to him.

The family is requesting in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to “The Fallen Lineman Organization” P.O. Box 1453 Madisonville, LA 70447.
