Adam Eugene Sizemore

Adam Eugene Sizemore, 39, of Laurel, MS, formerly of Phenix City, AL died Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in Laurel, MS “as a hero”.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 04, 2019 with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Sizemore was born October 17, 1979 in Phenix City, AL son of David Eugene Sizemore and the late Nancye Benefield Dowing. He was a man who lived a simple life, full of love and caring for those around him. Adam had recently moved to Laurel, MS to be with his fiancée, Holly Westmoreland, where he hoped to start a family.  His commitment to his new family and love for others extended to giving his life to save the life of his fiancée after she rescued her son. His love for others will always be remembered by his family and friends. We will miss him however, we will always cherish him in our hearts.

Survivors include his dad, David Eugene Sizemore (Amanda), Phenix City, AL; three brothers, Dean Benefield, Phenix City, AL, David Anthony Sizemore, Las Vegas, NV and Carl Dowing, Phenix City, AL; one sister, Tina Gunter, Gray, GA; fiancée, Holly Westmoreland, Laurel, MS; numerous uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews and close friends also survive.
