Arthur Miller, 84, of Phenix City, Alabama, went to be with his Lord on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Piedmont Hospital North Columbus, Georgia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00pm on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home 3738 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, AL, with Pastor David Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3:00pm Monday at the funeral home.
Art was born in Caledonia, MS the son of the late Otis A. Miller and Eppie Partain Miller. Mr. Miller proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a retired maintenance mechanic at Mead WestVaco (Westrock). Most importantly, Art was a Christian and served his church as a Greeter, allowing no one past his post without a hug, a handshake and telling you that he loved and appreciated you.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane Miller, a daughter Nancy Miller; one son Kenny Miller and a brother James A. Miller who was killed in action during WWII.
Survivors include his Very Close Friend Marjorie Hardman of Columbus GA; two sons Thomas A. “Tommy” Miller of Crestview, FL and Joseph Benjamin “Benny” Miller of Powder Springs, GA; eight grandchildren Lori Ashley Brown, Stuart Brown, Sean Miller, Mary Katherine Parker and Taylor Miller; eight great grandchildren and many other caring friends and loved ones.
