Bobby Smith, 50, of Columbus, GA passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown.
Bobby was born on August 18, 1972 in Columbus, GA to Robert and Sharon Smith. He started his own tile and carpet company at the young age of 19 and later worked in construction for over 35 years. Bobby loved fishing, especially deep-sea fishing. His hobbies also included building furniture items, going to flea markets, listening to all styles of music, mud riding, and, occasionally, hunting. Bobby was Catholic by faith and a member of “Ducks Unlimited”.
One of his passions was cooking for his family and friends. It always warmed his heart to see those he loved the most smiling and enjoying each other’s company. Bobby’s family remembers him as a man who worked hard his entire life and as someone who would be there for anything that came up with his family and friends. He was, without a doubt, a gifted, loving, and caring man who will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father Robert C. Smith. Survivors include his mother Sharon, daughter Taylor “Bug” Smith, and sons Crofford Smith and Brock Smith, all of Columbus, GA. His life-partner April “A Boogie” Daffin of Tallahassee, FL and numerous friends also survive.
Final arrangements are being made through Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus, GA. Private memorial services will be announced at a later date.
