I am deeply sorry to just read about this,Ray attended Christian Heritage church in Smith Station and I grew to know him over these last 20 + years .We would run into each other at Country's BQ downtown Columbus every month and stop and talk about the old times and new..I will surely miss him, was always a pleasure...until we meet again...

Bro. Huckaby was truly a unique man. He started attending Sandhill Bible Church shortly after his mama died and spoke so highly of her. We were blessed by his cheerful personality and love of the Lord. He was in our home many times and was so appreciative of the meals and fellowship. The church gave us a memory book after my husband Bobby , the pastor, passed away in 2013. Bro. Ray wrote 15(!) handwritten pages for his contribution to the book. May the Lord comfort his family and bless all of those who cared for him over the years and during his illness.

Ray was a great person. Sometimes I would pick him up when he was walking home. I remember seeing Ray at County BBQ and telling me" I know who you are but don't remember your name". He could not remember my name but He knew I was James's daughter. I always enjoyed our short conversation when I was taking him home. We talked about granddaddy ( Carl Chadwick) and Aunt Lucy.
