CSM (ret) George Douglas Mock, Sr., 74, of Seale, AL died Thursday October1, 2020 at his residence.
A graveside service will be held 10:30 am est Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Mock was born August 20, 1946 in Jacksonville, FL, son of the late Sam D. Mock and Alice Elizabeth Gagner Mock. He proudly served his country in the United States Army after 27 years. During his tenure with the Army he received many prestigious awards, including the Silver Star, the Legion of Merit with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart with two Oak Leaf Clusters. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, gardening and playing golf. Mr. Mock was also passionate about cooking and college football, as well as, spending time with his family. He attended Concord Baptist Church in Salem, AL.
He is survived by three daughters, Julianna Clark and husband Derek of Newberg, In, Jennifer Pullen of Phenix City, AL, and Shannon Freeman and husband Chase of LaGrange, GA; a son, George Douglas Mock, Jr. and wife Mandy of Smiths Station, AL; a brother, Donald Joseph Mock and wife Sara of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Abigail Jillian Clark, Emily Grace Clark, Andrew Lee Clark, Lilly Elisabeth Clark, Cody Rex Pullen (Danielle), Ashley Katelyn Stamey (Cody), Nathan Tyler Pullen, Loretta Michelle Mock, Samuel Douglas Mock, John David Mock, Emalyn Elizabeth Freeman; a great-grandchild, Lucas Rex Pullen; several other extended family and friends.
