Curtis “Buddy” Alan Parkerson, 58, of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 in the comfort of his home.
Buddy was born February 22, 1959 in Georgia to the late Curtis Felix Parkerson and Alma Kernels Parkerson. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and had been in tire business as owner of Fair Price Tires in Columbus, GA. He had a passion for his business and enjoyed helping people. He loved reading, watching wrestling, and his animals. He was known to everyone as the “tire man”.
He is survived by his daughter, Stefeny Parkerson, step-children, Britney Parkerson, Donna Walsberg, and Brandon Hawthorne. Three sisters, Theresa Henderson and husband Eugene, Arlene Gandy, and Tracy Boyd, his former and wife and friend, Sandy Hawthorne and husband Eddie, and host of extended family and friends.
A celebration of life memorial service with Military Honors will be held 3:00 pm EDT on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Eagles Wings Ministries in Seale with his beloved family officiating. A private burial will be held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the memorial service on Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations for his funeral – if desired, contributions may be made in trust to Vance Memorial Chapel for Curtis Alan Parkerson, respectfully, his family.
