Danny Lamar Johns, Sr.

Danny Lamar Johns, Sr., 70, of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday morning, July 30, 2019 in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EST on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home in Phenix City.

Danny was born February 16, 1949 in LaGrange, GA, son of the late John Thomas Johns and Betty Ann Reese Johns.  He was the owner / operator of Johns Lawn Service.  He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, classic cars, Gospel music, Elvis Presley, and Alabama Crimson Tide football.  He was a Baptist by faith and had attended United Baptist Church.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Johns.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Josephine Elaine Nichols Johns, daughter, Alisa Johns, son-in-law, Mike Brackin, son, Danny Lamar Johns, Jr. and wife Tammie, two sisters, Judy Hammock, and Sherry Mills, and one brother, Gene Johns and wife Margaret; (11) grandchildren, Kim Kerr (Jerry), Shelby Corcoran (Joe), David Brackin (Mckenzie), Lucas Brackin (Kayla), Jessica Smith (Kirby), Candler Brackin, Kalume Johns, Amy Brackin, Chloe Brackin, Brittany Brackin, and Joseph Brackin, (3) great grandchildren, Jonah Kerr, Henry Corcoran, and Josiah Kerr, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
