Ms. Edna West Hall, 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends at the U. S.
Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, MS on Saturday, January 22, 2022.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Tuesday, February 01, 2022 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Pastor Ken Weaver officiating. A private interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Ms. Hall was born December 26, 1923 in Colquitt, GA to the late Dewey West and Lucille Knight. She was a proud WWII, U. S. Army veteran. Ms. Hall was also a member of the American Legion, Columbus, GA, DAV #56, Women’s Army Corp Veterans Association and longtime member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God, Columbus, GA. She had retired from the State of Georgia Health Department after several years of committed service. A favorite past time was playing golf with friends. We will always remember her service to our country and the fond memories she helped us to create together.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by two infant daughters; her siblings, Hilton Knight, Jewell Weaver, Grace Thrasher and Louise West.
Survivors include her nephew, Ken Weaver (Gayle) of Starke, FL; niece, Donna Weaver Davis (Steve) of Lakeland, FL; niece, Doralee Thrasher Escamilla (David) of Austin, TX, nephew, Powell Thrasher of Raiford, FL; nieces, Anne Currie of Springfield, MO, Nancy Thrasher Van Etten (Keith) of Locust Grove, GA and Karen Knight Courier of Findlay, OH; ten great-nephews, three great-nieces, twenty great-great nieces and nephews; special friends, Patricia Bell, Salem, AL, Cheryl Lewis and Julie Lewis, both of Biloxi, MS.
