Emma Jean Holliday, 72, of Waverly Hall, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 beginning at 11:00 am with Rev. Eddie Terrell officiating. The interment will conclude at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service.
Emma was born on August 20, 1948 in Columbus, GA to the late R.V. Martin and Eloise Terry Martin. She was a construction worker for many years with Columbus Roofing and attended Melody Lakes Baptist Church. “Granny”, as she was fondly referred to, was a special mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who, without a doubt, loved her family. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Other than her parents, Emma is preceded in death by her sisters, Kathy Reeves and Helen Martin and brothers, Billy Martin and Raymond Martin.
Survivors include her son, James Crews, Jr. of Opelika, AL; stepson, John Holliday of Modesto, CA; brothers, R.V. Martin of Shiloh, GA, Stanley Martin of Mauk, GA, Edwin Martin of Lawrenceville, GA, and James Martin of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Susan Crews, Mary Dozier, Reagan Butler and Memphis Butler; many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
