Franklin D. Williams, 89, of Midland, GA passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Arabella Health and Wellness. Funeral services will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Sunday, April 30, 2023 beginning at 3:00 PM with Rev. Donnie McCoy officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Franklin was born on April 28, 1933 in Senoia, GA to Willie Frank Williams and Lillie Ruth (Brown) Williams. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines and later worked for Dominion Textiles where he was the Senior Vice-President of Human Resources. Franklin was very active in his community and church. He was a member of the Columbus Tech Board, Columbus Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Textiles, Kiwanis, and Civitan. For several years Franklin attended Hilton Terrace Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, and most recently Bethesda Baptist Church.

Franklin enjoyed being in the great outdoors. Some of his favorite hobbies included golfing, fishing, and above all, gardening. His family, however, brought him the greatest joy. He will be missed but this special husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather will always be remembered with a multitude of special memories and tremendous amount of love.

Franklin is preceded in death by his parents Willie and Lillie Ruth Williams, the grandparents who raised him Oscar and Lola Brown, stepfather Joseph Waller, three stepbrothers, and one stepsister.

Survivors include his loving and dedicated wife of 64 years Mary L. Williams, daughter Debbie White (Mark) of Midland, GA, grandchildren Blake White (Mallory) and Taylor White, and great-grandchildren Truett, Mayleigh, Charleigh, and Lawson.
