My sympathies to Gary's family. I worked with him at Fort Benning. I was the new labor counselor and Gary was one of the Civilian Personnel employees who helped to "break me in." He was so funny and always had a smile on his face. RIP, Gary.

Sherri, I am so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. I remember my last conversation with him where he consoled me regarding my loss. I will never forget Gary because he was like a brother always joking and nagging me. He was one of the hardest working and most dedicated employees in Civilian Personnel at Fort Benning. You could always count on Gary to get the job done. He was a very caring and empathetic person. Although, we worked with various recruitment programs, hiring persons with disabilities is just one where he showed so much compassion for people. Gary will truly be missed, however I know he's now with his beloved Vicki. Sherri, I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Cookie

Gary was liked and admired by all of Ft. Benning - friends, fellow employees and management. He had a close knit family. He was a hard worker and always went the "extra mile". He saw what needed to be done and did it. A good man.

So sorry to hear about Gary! I last saw him several months ago eating breakfast at the IHop and as always he had a funny story to tell. I worked with Gary about 20 years at Fort Benning and knew him to be extremely loyal, knowledgeable, steadfast, personable and would always break the stress of the job with his very humorous comments. Gary was a good friend to all and he will be missed by many! Rest in peace Gary!!
