Mrs. Gloria Faye Garner Smith, 77, of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at her home.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm EST, Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Mark Grizzard officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith was born November 11, 1945 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Leroy Garner and Nellie Evelyn Garner.  She worked as a nurse early in life but spent the majority of her life as a homemaker, taking care of her family.  Mrs. Smith enjoyed singing and caring for her family.  She was a member of Waverly Hall Baptist Church.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Patricia Chadwick, Gail Garner and Kim Fletcher; a brother, Roy Garner; and two great-grandchildren, Oliver Dean George and Jackson George.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ray D. Smith; three daughters, Rhonda Smith of Kennewick, WA, Annie Griggs and husband Mike of Salem, AL and Frieda Smith of Phenix City, AL; sisters, Betty Anne McGuire of Columbus, GA and Sandra Nell Pucket and husband Jimmy of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Christopher Scroggins, James Scroggins, Johnathan Scroggins, Christina George (Terry), Amanda Scroggins, Bethany Scroggins, Tim Hopkins and Ashley Hopkins; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Caden, Joseph, Cayla, Miley, Vander, Nolan, Griffith, Bentley, Grace, Jensen, Aiden, Emma and Carter; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
