Henry D. Renfroe, 78, of Phenix City, AL died on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at his residence peacefully in his sleep.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Renfroe was born January 29, 1942 in Pike County, AL son of the late TK Renfroe and Lola Greene Renfroe. He retired from Fieldcrest Cannon Mill as a fixer after more than forty years of dedicated service. Mr. Renfroe loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, running dogs and enjoying time with family and friends. He and his wife, Mrs. Ophelia, loved animals, especially their bird “Snickers”. Mr. Renfroe enjoyed old western movies, John Wayne movies were his favorite and the series Mountain Men. We know he is no longer hurting but our hearts are, however, his influence, memories and wisdom will continue to impact us and our family for generations to come.
Mr. Renfroe was preceded in death by his brother, Clifford Renfroe and his sister, Dimple Bryan; two grandchildren Andrew Renfroe and Anthony Renfroe, and one great granddaughter Ava Kosuda.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Ophelia Renfroe; four children Raymond Renfroe (Jennifer) of Fort Mitchell AL, Jack Renfroe (Trina) of Fort Mitchell, AL, Marlene Pilkinton (Jeff) of Phenix City, AL, and Chris Renfroe (Misty) of Crawford, AL; three siblings, Sara Smith, Karen Bartholf, and Richard Renfroe (Shirley) all of Phenix City; 11 grandchildren Kyle Pilkinton, Amber Renfroe, Timothy Renfroe, Crystal Williams (Wayne), Bubba Renfroe, Kaylene Pilkinton, Cassidy Renfroe, Gracie Pilkinton, Chloe Renfroe, Alaina Renfroe, and Sabrina Renfroe; three great-grandchildren, Harlee Pilkinton, Adalynn Quesnell, and Kaulder Williams.
