Inez Violet Stewart Ray, 93, of Douglasville, GA formerly of Phenix City, AL, died at her residence on Saturday, March 06, 2021 with her family by her side.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Steve Pace officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM (EST) at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ray was born May 16, 1927 in Point Pleasant, WV daughter of the late Clyde W. Stewart and Annalee Rogers Deewitt. She had worked as a Lab Tech several years. She was also a former member of Summerville Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL. Mrs. Ray enjoyed sewing, often making items for family and friends, traveling and dancing with her late husband. She loved her family and was present whenever they had special events planned. Her legacy of love, dedication and family has guided us and will continue to guide future generations in a positive way.
Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 44 years, Jack Lynn Ray, an infant child and her siblings.
Survivors include her two sons, Allen Ray (Jo), Jefferson, GA, and Steve Ray, Douglasville, GA; five grandchildren, Paul Ray (Stephanie), Deon Ray, Joseph Brian Ray, Julie Anna Venable (Eric) and Kelly Ray; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and family friends also survive.
