Iris Denise Stubbs, 50, of Columbus, GA passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown. Graveside services will be held at Green Acres Cemetery, 1485 Schatulga Rd, Columbus, GA on Saturday, October 30, 2021 beginning at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends Friday, October 29, 2021 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. In keeping with efforts to control the spread of COVID-19, social distancing guidelines will be observed and facemasks will be required.

Iris was born on June 23, 1971 in Greensboro, GA to Frank Hembrick and Fannie Hutchison. She was a 1989 graduate of Greensboro High School and employed as an Associate at Sam’s Club for over 24 years. Iris was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama.

Iris was an energetic and active person. She was a beautiful butterfly in this world. She enjoyed working out at Orangetheory and putting smiles on everyone’s face. She enjoyed traveling and loved her family and friends dearly. Iris was also an avid sports fan, rooting the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs in hopes that they would never let her down in a championship again. She will forever be remembered as the butterfly in our hearts.

Other than her mother, survivors include her loving husband of 10 years, Christopher Stubbs; son Anthony Obaner, Jr.; stepdaughter Kira Stubbs; sisters Felicia Dozier, Alexis Hembrick and Chloe Hembrick; brothers Donald Vestal, Ronald Vestal and Anthony Hembrick; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Iris is preceded in death by her father.
