James Cecil Riddle, Jr., 85, of Columbus, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Phenix City Health Care. A memorial service will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 beginning at 2:00 PM with Columbus Hospice Chaplain Muriel Pitts officiating. The interment will conclude at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
James was born on March 3, 1934 in Phenix City, AL to the late James and Ina Riddle, Sr. He worked as an electrician at Bibb Mill. James enjoyed bowling but, most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family. This wonderful man will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, and friends, but he will always hold a very special place in their hearts.
Other than his parents, James is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of over 59 years, Frances Riddle, and a son, Terry Riddle.
Survivors include his daughter, Pam Fields (James) of Columbus, GA; sons, Michael Riddle (Tina) of Phenix City, AL, Gregory Riddle (Neda) of Atlanta, GA, and Kevin Riddle (Samaeria) of O’Fallon, IL; sister, Peggy Lloyd of Phenix City, AL; brothers, Johnny Riddle and Bubba Riddle (Sandra), both of Phenix City, AL; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
