Jesse B. Murphy, 95, of Valley, AL passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, February 5, 2019 in Auburn, AL.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Paul Murphy and Rev. Mitchell Smith officiating. Private interment will be at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service from 1 until 2 at the funeral home.
Mr. Murphy was born June 9, 1923 in Salem, AL to the late William Taylor Murphy and Neva Belle Trussell Murphy. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He attended Rocky Mount Baptist Church for many years but was currently a member at Beulah Baptist Church.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Willie J. Murphy, Daniel K. Murphy, Clayton C. Murphy and Paul E. Murphy and 2 sisters, Doris Murphy McKemy and Dovie Murphy Parker.
He is survived by a son, Jerry Murphy and wife Cheryl of Mobile, AL, grandson, Daniel E. Murphy wife Hanna of Mobile, AL and great-grandson, Jesse Murphy, and many numerous nieces, and nephews and other extended family and friends.
