Katherine Inez Sewell Brown, 73, of Salem, AL died April 01, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family.

A private graveside service will be held at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bud Passmore and Rev. Curt Mize officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. A visitation will be held from 6:00 till 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 02, 2020 at the funeral home. Please keep in mind the current restrictions regarding social distancing during the visitation.

Mrs. Brown was born December 28, 1946 in Lawton, OK daughter of the late Johnnie Sewell and Pauline Gifford Sewell. She was an active member of Concord Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Brown retired from Winston Smith T Building Supply as a bookkeeper. We will remember her as having a strong will, but always keeping her family’s best interest at heart. Her wisdom, ways and sense of humor will continue to impact us and future generations.

Mrs. Brown was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank M. Brown, Sr., two siblings, Marilyn Hutchins and Fred Swell, and a grandson, David Cody Brown.

Survivors include her three children, Frank M. Brown, Jr, Jennifer Johnson (Johnny) and Phillip Brown (Stacy L.); four siblings, Dink Sewell, David (Patty) Sewell, Grover Sewell and Melva Thomas; sister-in-law, Terry Sewell; seven grandchildren, Ashleigh Johnson, Zachary Johnson (Rachel), Landan Brown, Caleb Brown, Kerrigan Brown, Rosa Hopper and Kaley Hopper; “daughter-in-law”, Shelby McTaggart;  numerous nieces, nephews and close friends also survive.
