Katherine Duett Richards, 88, of Phenix City, AL, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Phenix City Healthcare in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm EST, on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Vance Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Tommy Poole officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.
Mrs. Richards was born on November 12, 1928 in Pike County, AL daughter of the late Marion Duett and Pearlie Mae Graham Duett. She retired from Fieldcrest Mills with over 32 years of service, where she worked as a lab technician. Mrs. Richards also worked for many years as a volunteer at Cobb Hospital and the Medical Center in Columbus, GA. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and a former member of Holland Creek Baptist Church.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years W. O. “Bill” Richards; two sisters and one brother.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda R. Corley and husband Walter Douglas of Phenix City, AL and Brenda R. Moore of Phenix City, AL; one son, Stanley O. Richards and wife Jane of Vicenza, Italy; grandchildren, Dr. Cathy Corley Marsal and husband Clay of Mobile, AL and Hannah Richards Grider and husband Justin of Northport, AL; many other extended family and friends.
