Lavenia Love McLaurin Morefield, 86, of Smiths Station, AL passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, March 14, 2017 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EDT Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Midway Baptist Church in Smiths Station with Pastor Jeff Dravenstott officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Thursday one hour prior to the service at Midway Baptist Church.

Ms. Morefield was born July 11, 1930 in Fayetteville, NC to the late Dougald Leondas McLaurin and Dora Smith McLaurin.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was full of charm, love, grace, and devotion.  She enjoyed her daily fellowship, and loved helping out and supporting Jo-Lin’s (Moody’s) Restaurant.  She loved her family dearly, and was a devoted member of Midway Baptist Church.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by several sisters and brothers.

 She is survived by two daughters, Linda Dykes and husband Dexter, and Brenda Floyd and husband Eddie, one son, Ronnie Morefield and wife Robin, (4) grandchildren, Jenna Griggs (Marty), Brooke McManus (Stephen), Mackenzie Morefield, and Jared Floyd, (3) precious great grandchildren, Rylee Griggs, Kyler Griggs, and Steele McManus, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and many caring friends.
