Margaret Tolar Dunham

Margaret Tolar Dunham, 88, of Smiths Station, AL died at her home on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 with her family by her side.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Brother Ismael Valle officiating. A private interment will be in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mrs. Dunham was born April 16, 1935 in Pansey, AL daughter of late Jordon Tolar and Obelia Cook Tolar. She was the owner of Margarets Beauty Shop for many years. Mrs. Dunham loved making her customers look great and enjoying the fellowship each one afforded. She was an active member of Oasis Christian Center where she was active in numerous ministries, to include the Tape Ministry and Singing.  Mrs. Dunham was also a great cook. Cooking for her family and friends brought her great joy. The wonderful memories we have hidden in our hearts will always bring a warm smile to our faces. We will also share these fond memories with future generations.

Mrs. Dunham was preceded in death by her parents, Jordon and Obelia Tolar; her husband SSG (Ret) Marvin Duane Dunham; a sister, Dot Conrad; son-in-law, Michael “Mike” Wilbourn and a grandson, Shane Wilbourn.

Survivors include her two daughters, Debbie Wilbourn, Phenix City, AL and Sharon Edmunds (Rev. Rock), Smiths Station, AL; three sisters, Kathy Station, IL, Carolyn Martin, TX and Ophelia Rogers, AL; two grandchildren, Ashley Wilbourn and Benjamin Edmunds (Patty); three precious great-grandchildren, Cole, Elizabeth and Dylan Dempsey; several nieces, nephews and friends.
