Margareta Wright

Margareta Wright, age 87, of Columbus, Georgia passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at her home.  A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1953 Torch Hill Rd, Columbus, GA on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 beginning at 11:00 AM with Father Bob Benko officiating.  The interment will conclude at Parkhill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday, November 25, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Rosary will be held 30 minutes prior to the visitation.

Mrs. Wright was born on November 12, 1932 in Aschbach, Germany. to the late Peter Hertrich and Josephine Hertrich (Binder).  She was a loving and devoted mother, who worked tirelessly to provide a warm and welcome home to her family.  Margareta’s appreciation of the outdoors was her biggest hobby, and she could regularly be found in her garden, tending to her own personal piece of nature.  She was very active and enjoyed taking peaceful walks through her neighborhood.

Other than her parents, Mrs. Wright is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wright, and her siblings.

Survivors include her daughter, Trudy Carpenter, of Salem, AL; grandson, Kevin Carpenter of Gulf Shores, AL.
