Martha Alice Evans Lutze, 56, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2021, at Piedmont Midtown in Columbus, Georgia.
A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 120 Upper River Road, Americus, GA 31709, with Elder Paul Evans officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6-8:00 PM EST at Vance Brooks Funeral Home 3738 Highway 431 NorthPhenix City, AL 36867.
Martha was born in Fairfield, AL, the daughter of the late Leonard Newton Evans Jr. and Sarah Pauline Blanton Evans. She had a passion for all aspects of teaching, which made her a success at her job as Training Coordinator for New Horizons. Martha loved her dogs, considering them to be part of her family. She even trained some of her dogs in therapy work bringing smiles and enjoyment to many residents at local assisted living facilities. Martha was known as an extremely nice person and well organized. But above all, she loved her family and spending time with them.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lutze was preceded in death by one brother Leonard Newton Evans, III, and one sister Sarah Lynne Evans Gay.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 26 years Richard D. Lutze, III; two sisters Laura Strickland and Ellen Thomas, both of Smiths Station, AL; one brother Paul Evans; and many caring friends and extended family members.
