Melody Lynn Trimm Bourgeois, 18, of Phenix City, AL passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Piedmont Regional Medical Center in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, October 21, 2019 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. Active pallbearers will be John Johnson, Sr., John, Jr and Jake Johnson, Ivory Cooper, Justin Gould, Sidney Rawls and Dustin Adams. A committal service will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Melody was born June 21, 2001 in Phenix City, AL, daughter of Jason Keith Trimm and Charala Ann Carter Hewett. She enjoyed fishing, playing video games, and reading. Melody loved animals and was passionate about the rescue of animals in need. She was somewhat humorous and always loved speaking with an Irish accent. She was Baptist by faith and attended Grace Freewill Baptist Church in Phenix City.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin Arthur Bourgeois; father, Jason (Miranda) Trimm; mother, Charala Ann (Gabriel) Hewitt; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rusty and Melissa Gavin; two sisters, Harmony Trimm and Clarity Beeler Steen; four brothers, Jeremiah, Elijah, Christian, and Nehemiah Evans; maternal grandparents, Linda (Bo Ray Smith) Carter, Danny R. Carter; cousins, Sidney Rawls, Samantha Rawls, Kayla (Fiancé, Kyree) Carter and A. J. Rawls; uncles and aunts Karen Rawls (Chris) Ivy, Danny G. and Samantha Carter, Belinda and David Sanders, as well as a host of extended family and numerous friends.

It grieves me so greatly to learn of Melody’s death. She was a wonderful, warm-hearted, and talented student. I am so sorry and saddened that the world has lost such a bright young woman. My most sincere condolences to her family and loved ones. I found some pictures from her 8th grade year that I wanted to share. These are from two of the plays she was in with me. My prayers and thoughts are with her family as you adjust to life without this ray of sunshine. Please take comfort in knowing that I feel truly blessed just to have known her, and she will never be forgotten.
