I was lucky to grow up as part of that large Garrett family Uncle Jack married into. He was a special guy. Always smiling, no, beaming from his enjoyment of life. He was a great role model for young men to learn from in many ways. I became a better man by watching him show us how to do it right. Heaven gained another Angel.

To my cousins Gary, Jackie, and Beth: your dad was a special man; growing up and visiting your family was always a joy. Aunt Mary and Uncle Jack were always upbeat and happy. Over the last few years, I would run into Uncle Jack at some local fast food restaurant when I happened to be in town and he always came up to me with that smile. Just an awesome man. I only wish I had gotten to play golf with him... Peace and love to all of you!

I am sorry I won’t be able to attend uncle Jack’s service. I have many fond memories of visits to Athens and Salem when we were growing up. He and aunt Mary were the sweetest, kindest aunt and uncle you could ever ask for. I am so sorry for your loss. Love, Susanne
