Marvin Lamar Huckaby, 87, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away peacefully on Monday evening, May 17, 2021 at Piedmont Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm EDT Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, Alabama with The Rev. Barry Danner officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 HWY 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867.
Mr. Huckaby was born June 09, 1933 in Phenix City, Alabama to the late Durwood Huckaby and Lucy Agnes Huckaby. He was retired with over twenty-five years of dedicated service from The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), where he was a salesman and honored with many awards and accommodations. Mr. Huckaby had many hobbies which included fishing, traveling and painting. Above all else, he was a devout Christian and enjoyed worshiping his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at First Assembly of God in Phenix City.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Alma Joyce Huckaby and brother, Floyd Huckaby.
He is survived by his five children: Paula Dianne H. Scott of Albany, Georgia, Terri Joyce Huckaby of Phenix City, Alabama, David Lamar Huckaby of Smith Station, Alabama, Kevin Brian Huckaby of Phenix City, Alabama and Darin Scott Huckaby of Phenix City, Alabama; five siblings: Louise Lenior of Phenix City, Alabama, Faye Ryals and husband, Harrell, of Montgomery, Alabama, Donald Huckaby of Phenix City, Alabama, Johnny Huckaby and wife Suzanne of Phenix City, Alabama, and Ray Huckaby of Phenix City, Alabama; ten grandchildren: Gavin Ives, Matthew, Emily and Phoebe Huckaby, Garrett Huckaby and Courtney Huckaby, Caleb Huckaby and Cailey Huckaby, Pete E. Scott Jr. and Jonathan Lamar Scott; six great-grandchildren: Addison Stafford, Madison Scott, Cole Scott, Denver Huckaby, Aspen Huckaby and Braylynn Huckaby; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family as well as many caring friends.
