Mr. Salvatore “Sal” Canzano, 84, of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 am est Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Father David Hamm officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. There will be a Rosary Service at 6:00 pm Tuesday evening and the family will receive friends after the Rosary until 8:00 pm.
Mr. Canzano was born September 25, 1936 in Jersey City, NJ, son of the late Peter Anthony Canzano and Catalina Lugo Canzano. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he fought in the Vietnam War. After his service in the military, he worked at Tom’s Foods and retired after 26 years. Mr. Canzano was a member of the Knights of Columbus and also a member of St. Patrick Church in Phenix City, AL.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Winnie Pearl Brumby Canzano; three sisters, Dolores Canzano, Arlene Rivera and Theresa Gonzalez.
Mr. Canzano is survived by a daughter, Catherine Murphy and husband Bobby of FL; two sons, Philip Canzano and Billy Canzano; two grandchildren, Paul Pastore, Jr. of NC and Heather Weber; several great-grandchildren; a nephew, Tony Martinez and wife Renee of Seale, AL; nieces, Lisa Williams and husband Dennis of Staten Island, NY, Christine Rodriguez of Bayonne, NJ and Francis Rivera of Pensacola, FL; several other extended family and friends.
