Mr. Thomas E. Long, 78, of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Steve Williamson and Rev. Bud Passmore officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am Thursday, one hour before the service, at the funeral home.

Mr. Long was born August 31, 1943 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Marshall E. Long, Sr. and Annie Ruth Griggers Long.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  After his service in the military, Mr. Long worked as a technician for the Civil Service and retired after 30 years.  He was a long time member of Crawford Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.  Mr. Long enjoyed fishing and camping but above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Davis Long of Phenix City, AL; two sons, Nathan Long and wife Lorri of Phenix City, Al and Jason Long and wife Rosie of Phenix City, AL; one sister, Patricia Shelton and husband J. D. of Smiths Station, AL; one brother, Marshall E. Long, Jr. of Clermont, FL; a grandson, Kyle Davis Long; other extended family and friends.
