Mr. William “Bill” Parker, 93, formerly of Phenix City, AL, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Cedar Hill Assisted Living in Selma, AL.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm EST (1:00 pm CST) Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Grant Parker officiating according Vance Brooks Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 pm EST Saturday prior to the graveside, at the funeral home.

Mr. Parker was born July 19, 1929 in Westminster, SC, son of the late William Vester Parker and Nora Estelle Cope Parker.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Parker spent most of his career working as a mechanic in the construction industry.  He was a long time member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years Dorothy “Dot” Parker; a son, Jo Jo Parker; two sisters and four brothers.

He is survived by two sons, Dean Parker and wife Shannon of Mt. Airy, NC and Barry Parker and wife Jan of Selma, AL; two sisters, Mary Nell Thompson and husband James of Spartanburg, SC and Emily Faith Crawford of Franklin, NC; brother-in-law, Bobby Dean and wife Sherree of Phenix City, AL;  grandchildren, Katie Black (Jeff), Alex Hughey (Zach) and Emily Parker (Joe); great-grandchildren, Will Colquett, Rush Hughey, Jefferson Black, Caroline Black and Will Parker; as well as, nieces, nephews and extended family.
