Mrs. Elaine Mann Layfield, 93, of Phenix City, AL passed away on Thursday March 23, 2023 at Anabella Health Care in Phenix City, AL.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday, March 27, 2023 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Jerry Scarborough officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Layfield was born January 3, 1930 in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late Henry Mann and Flossie Newsome Mann.  She worked in administration at several local churches and retired after her tenure at Central Baptist Church.  Mrs. Layfield enjoyed traveling and spending time in nature at places like Yellowstone Park.  She also enjoyed journaling and reading her Bible.  Mrs. Layfield was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy L. Layfield with whom she celebrated 73 anniversaries; a sister, Janice King; a brother, Luther Mann and two nephews, Donald Paek and Christopher Layfield; a daughter-in-law, Marsha Layfield.

She is survived by her children; Carol Paek and husband Don, Jack Layfield and wife Marty, Neal Layfield and wife Cris, and Jan Crowley and husband Bill; grandchildren, D.J. Layfield, Jennifer Humphrey, Elizabeth McAshan, Andrew Paek, Laura Gutierrez, Joni Anderson, Danielle Crowley, Hannah Crowley, and Marci Crowley; great-grandchildren, David, Maci, Jenna Grace, Kierra, Ashlyn, Rowan, Violet, Daphne, Roxas, and Luna; as well as extended family and friends.
