Flora “Rose” Centino Zeleznik, 56, of Fort Mitchell, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, February 17, 2023, with her loving husband by her side.
Funeral Services will held at 12:30 EST on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home located at 3738 U.S. Highway 431 North Phenix City, AL 36867, with Rev. Ralph Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Zeleznik was born in Manila, Philippines, the daughter of the late Jimmy Centino and Trinida Centino. She met the love of her life Robert Zeleznik while he was stationed in Guam, which led to Rose coming to the United States where they were married. “Rose” as she was Known to her friends, enjoyed working in her many flower gardens and always had Robert digging new holes for her to plant plants. In addition to her gardens, Rose loved her koi pond which she constructed with the help of special neighbors. Rose loved being a military wife and she was known as a very patriotic person. She enjoyed traveling, especially when it involved going to botanical gardens. She considered botanical gardens heaven on earth. Above all, she loved her husband and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of thirty-one years, Robert Zeleznik; three brothers Ceasar Centino, Roger Centino and John Centino, all of Northern Samar Philippines; Cousin, Francisca “Annabelle” Bosco, cousin and many neighbors and friends that she considered family.
