Rebecca “Becky” A. Wilkerson

Rebecca “Becky” A. Davenport Wilkerson, 76, of Phenix City, AL died at Piedmont, Midtown, Columbus, GA on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Friday, August 18, 2023 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Pastor Jared Owens officiating.  A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home on Friday, August 18, 2023.

Mrs. Wilkerson was born March 15, 1947 in Richland, GA daughter of the late Charlie Lee Davenport and Edith Jones Davenport. She was a legal secretary Faulk and Laudreau and Charles Floyd Attorneys at Law for several years. Ms. Becky later became the Church Secretary at Lamb Baptist Church for many years. She also worked with the AWANA’s and in various other ministries at the church. Ms. Becky also was a helpmate to her late husband, Rev. Thomas Wilkerson, as they ministered to shut-ins and nursing home residents. She loved her family, especially the grands and great-grands. It seemed she knew no bounds in her care and love for them.  She has left a rich heritage for her family of faith, love and strength.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Edith Davenport; husband, Rev. Thomas Eugene Wilkerson; two brothers, Edgar and Bradford Davenport; a brother-in-law, Robert Ritch; and a stepson who was killed in action in Iraq, Charles Wilkerson.

Survivors include her daughter, Traci Jones Winchester, Columbus, GA; son, Louis Billy Jones (Crystal “Cricket”), Smiths Station, AL; five step-children, Cathy Hernandez (Ebolio), Sandy Wilkerson, Jose Wilkerson, Bobby Wilkerson and Gino Wilkerson; two sisters, Phyllis Ritch and Janice Packard (Jim); two brothers, Charles Davenport (Linda) and Waylon Davenport; sister-in-law, Angelyn Davenport; six grandchildren, Hailey Jones, John Winchester, Jr., Cody Jones, Jacob Winchester (Tabitha), Wade Jones (Tiffany) and Joel Winchester; four great-grandchildren, Kaylee Clement, Maylee Clement, Case Haines and Lacey Jones; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
