Rebecca “Becky” Ann Chester

Rebecca “Becky” Ann Chester, 73, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, June 24, 2023, in the comfort of her home while surrounded by her loving family.

Becky was born March 10, 1950, in Phenix City, AL and was the daughter of the late John McLain and Maude Strickland Holloway.  She had served as office manager for Chattahoochee Pallets in Columbus, GA for 19 years of faithful service.  She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary 5228 in Phenix City.  She enjoyed line-dancing, gardening, camping, nature, and the outdoors, but her greatest joy was spending time with all her family, especially all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was Baptist by faith.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, 1SG (Retired) James Earl Chester, and her daughter, Tracey Elizabeth Ferree.

She is survived by her son, James “Keith” Chester (Melissa Butler); two sisters, Sue Driggers and Jane McGowan; one brother, John McLain (Judy); three precious grandchildren, Hannah Chester (Micheal Danzey), Austin Chester, and Rebecca Lavoie; three precious great-grandchildren, Makenzie Lavoie, Cameron Lavoie, and Zadie Mae Danzey; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.

Private services will be held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband, 1SG (Retired) James Earl Chester who passed away in April of 2017.
