Rev. Danny Ryals, 64, of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday, September 6, 2019 in Talladega, AL.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm EST Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at St. Mark Freewill Baptist Church, 3005 Sandfort Road, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Willie Martin and Rev. Dewayne Dean officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home.
Rev. Ryals was born August 12, 1955 in Phenix City, AL, son of the late Nolen B. Ryals and Betty Mae Cobb Ryals. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Rev. Ryals has served in the ministry for over 45 years. He was the present pastor at St. Mark Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Ryals enjoyed football being both a Central and Auburn fan. He loved to play a variety of instruments and sing and never met a stranger. Above all he loved his family and sharing the word of God.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Paula Kennedy Ryals of Phenix City, AL; two children, Joshua Ryals and Carrie Ryals, both of Phenix City, AL; two sisters, Connie Fay Woodham and husband Ken of Winter Haven, FL and Janice Downs and husband Edwin of New Iberia, LA; one brother, Billy Ryals of Phenix City, AL; several extended family, church family and numerous friends.

Remember Bro Danny coming to Baxley Freewill Church and we all fell in love the a wonderful man and his family. Paula, Carrie and Joshua we will miss Bro Danny as you will but God is now an Auburn fan...I can remember so many funny stories, including getting me to go with him to witness to an Atheist. He simply said, if I’m wrong what have I lost. But if you’re wrong what have you lost?? The following Sunday the man walked the isle and got saved. What a little preacher as my dad used to say.
