Richard Charles Cook, Jr., 40, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 24, 2021.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM (EDT) on Friday, October 1st, 2021 at Golden Acres Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL with his brother, Rev. Daniel Cook officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. A private interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00PM till 8:00PM at Golden Acres Baptist Church.
Richard was born January 16, 1981 in Columbus, GA son of Richard Charles Cook, Sr. and Pamela Williams Cook. He loved Auburn Football and watching his boys, Cade and Cole play baseball and other sports. He also enjoyed spending time with them fishing. His family was his top priority to include his nieces, nephews and friends. While we don’t understand why he was taken so soon, we know we will see him again in Heaven. Thank you for all the great memories that we will cherish in our hearts forever.
Richard was preceded in death by an infant son, Robbie Cook; his paternal grandparents, W. Boyd Cook and Frances Y. Cook, maternal grandfather, Kenneth G. “Penny” Williams; an uncle, Bobby Cook, Sr. and an aunt, Dianne Cook.
Survivors other than his parents, Richard and Pam Cook of Phenix City, AL include his two sons, Cade and Cole Cook; sister, Michelle Schoenrock (James), brother, Daniel Cook (Abby); maternal grandmother, Carolyn Williams; many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

To all whom loved and knew Richard. Me and my entire Thomas Family send our condolences to everyone. I Kelvin , worked at Ft.Benning with Richard and enjoyed every moment of it . Richard was a " Go get'em kind of guy " folks. We became close brothers as he done with many of you all. We even stayed in contact after Richard left Base to pursue bigger things in life . There's nothing I can truly say ,that everyone else hasn't said all ready , ecpt I loved Richard Luke my brother . May God comfort all the hurting and pain in us all from the losses taken place recently. I know we say , he's with God now but truly he is and all in Christ are . GOD IS ABLE. !! I will personally miss Richard bit know this isn't the end . Until we meet again Richard , enjoy your new home in Heaven .

We met Jamie, Richard, Cade & Cole when our son & Cade played in Little League baseball together. Their team won the 2017 Alabama State Championship and then we traveled to North Carolina for Regionals. So all of us families were together daily! Those few months will always be some of our family's greatest memories. Richard was a character, a proud baseball Daddy, & showed love and pride for all the boys. He was continuously walking the fence with words of encouragement, pride, and yes, displeasure at a bad call or a bad play but follow it up with "you got this" or "let's go"!
